JUST DANCE CHOREOGRAPHY WORKSHOP
Sous Sou into the Summer season this June with your fellow Freaks In Training for Just Dance, a unique choreography workshop experience where we learn a very short piece of Balanchine inspired choreography that will leave you feeling exhilarated and yearning for more. The confidence harnessed in learning and executing a piece of technical choreography is immeasurable.
June's Just Dance Workshop consists of a short barre warm up that with an emphasis on sharp footwork, speed and most importantly musicality. The idea of “phrasing” also known as arranging steps in various ways to achieve a desired visual effect is a key component to understanding musicality, which is especially critical when learning new choreography.
The music to variation we will learn for June’s Just Dance Choreography Workshop was originally created for Act 3 of Swan Lake. However, because this music was not in Tchaikovsky’s original composition it was not published in the original score and was thought to have been lost. This music was accidentally discovered in 1953 in the Bolshoi Theatre archives and caught the attention of George Balanchine, who successfully sought permission to use it for his own choreography.

SPRING CLEAN TECHNIQUE
Two Dates Only!
The focus of this workshop is sharp footwork followed
by pointe work technique. Pointe shoes are not required.
Most of this workshop will take place at the barre.
